Welcome! Pioneer Family Campground is under new ownership as of 2013!

Looking for a great Christian campground for the whole family to experience? Pioneer Family Campground, Inc. is a place for rest and relaxation. We have been a family owned business for going on 40 years this summer! We offer large wooded sites by the night, week & month. We have walking trails, two playgrounds, a recreation hall, showers and more. If you want to come with your RV and not go thru the hassle of tearing down and setting up camp, annual sites are available. We can also be a special haven for your family reunion, camping outing, staff meeting, retreat, or conference. We are in the process of updating the kitchen in our recreation hall, with new cabinets, stove and refrigerator, and will hopefully be availabe for rent this summer, 2013. Come help us celebrate 40 years, July 6, 2013! Music will be provided by Freedom Sound. Lisa, the daughter and Jay, son-in-law of Bro. Frank Gonzales. Sandy & Hugo is also a part Freedom Sound, the 4 of them were last team to travel with Bro. Frank! This will also be a Rededication Celebration...dedicating the Land to our Lord Jesus Christ! We will have a service on Friday, July 5, at 7pm, This will be a bilingual service (Española and English). Sat, July 6th from 2pm-4pm, we will have an ice cream social in the Pavilion. Bring your favorite topping to share! Then at 6pm will begin the rededication service beginning with the story, The beginning of Pioneer Family Campground (Why did Phyllis & Jerry Crawford pick Lake Village, IN to start a campground? A Country Setting

Pay us a visit at Pioneer Family Campground in Northwestern Indiana and take part in fun activities like hiking and biking, petting farm animals, slipping down water slides, and exploring a Chicago zoo! With our setting, 45 miles south of Chicago, our Indiana RV park enjoys the best of all worlds -- we're near big city attractions like the Magnificent Mile, but we're also set in a quiet rural area that's perfect for relaxation. You'll find family farms in our county, like the Fair Oaks Farms dairy farm, a great place to go for a tour and hands-on educational exhibits.

Peacefull, Natural Surroundings

Right in camp at Pioneer Family Campground you can go hiking around the pond, go bird watching in our woods, or plan a picnic lunch to enjoy right at your campsite. We have a playground for the kids as well as a rec room with rainy-day games and ping-pong. And in the wintertime, this area turns into a snow haven with trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling, plus areas for snowboarding and sledding. And you can always watch for

Our area is known for its excellent shopping at the Westfield Southlake Mall. You can also shop for handicrafts and homemade treats at Amish Acres (2 hrs. away), an 80-acre homestead where the kids can meet the farm animals and you can take a tour through this Amish community. And for a taste of history, don't miss a visit to the Buckley Homestead or to Historic Crown Point, home of the "Grand Old Lady" courthouse.

You can head to Lake Michigan for a day of boating, fishing, water sports, and beach games. If you're nearby Chicago, you won't want to miss a trip to see the incredible animals, children's zoo, and butterfly garden at the Brookfield Zoo. And in nearby Merrillville you can catch a show at the Star Plaza Theatre or go splashing down the water rides and wave pools at the Deep River Water park.
